Reiki is a Japanese word that translates to "rei" (universal) and "ki" (vital life force). It involves gentle placements of a practitioner's hands on various areas of the head and body to promote relaxation, reduce stress and improve emotional balance. The client remains clothed with blankets and a bolster under the knees for utmost comfort. Reiki has been shown to be effective in activating the parasympathetic nervous system.
Shiatsu is a Japanese word that translates to "finger" (Shi) and "pressure" (Atsu). It is a manually applied therapy that promotes wellbeing and overall health. Shiatsu involves a variety of techniques such as acupressure, meridian therapy, kneading, compression, joint rotation, stretching, lifting, vibration and tapping. This flowing massage style is personalized to each clients' landscape and can be on a table or a comfortable mat. Shiatsu is a "grassroots and barefoot" practice, there are no tools involved in treatments other than the therapists' hands, fingers, forearms, elbows, feet and a bolster. Shiatsu creates space for people to have more room for themselves within their body, it is expanding both physically and mentally.
Acupressure stimulates key points and meridians of the body, facilitating natural healing potential and alleviating specific health conditions. It encourages increased circulation of blood, release of muscular tension and assists the flow of the body's vital life force (chi). It uses the same methodology as acupuncture, a system founded over five thousand years ago by ancient physicians that observed when certain points were held, symptoms would resolve in other unrelated areas of the body as well.
VIBRATION/TUNING FORK THERAPY $85
Tuning fork therapy applies the same theory of acupressure with tools that apply a balancing vibration to specific points on the body. Soothing tones ring from the forks that can induce a trance-like meditational experience. Bryce works with the earth tone "Ohm" (136.1hz) from Ohm Therapeutics.
